Alarm Systems Wireless Security is designed for installation in a house that was not ideal for an alarm system, wired when it was built. Motion detectors, door contacts and windows contacts can be wireless, and do not need to be wired to return to the main panel. Even the keyboard can be controlled wirelessly.
The various components using wireless RF (radio waves) to transmit their signals back to the main control panel. The only real disadvantage compared to WiredSystems is that the wireless components on batteries that need to be replaced from time to time.
These batteries generally last for years, however, and many companies offer alarm and coverage of maintenance plans that replacement batteries and install them.
The most common components of wireless alarm are:
Control Panel
This is essentially the “brains” of the alarm system. It is usually mounted somewhere in which theroad, like a closet or basement. It checks the signals from all wireless components, and triggers the alarm (and a call to the monitoring station when the system is monitored), when the sensors detect an intrusion too far.
Keyboard
The keyboard is used to arm and disarm the system and change the various settings. Is usually somewhere near the front door for easy access.
Magnetic switches
These contacts are used to monitor doors and windows.I am a switch, set the window or door and a magnet mounted on the frame is together. When the switch and magnet are separated (the window or door is opened or broken), the alarm is activated.
Motion sensors
Motion sensors in large rooms or areas such as corridors are fitted. You can see the movement – and in some cases, the body heat – and trigger the alarm when outside the acceptable range.
Camcorders
Wireless security cameras may have aVideo feed-back to a monitor and / or a VCR at home. They can be used for areas outside monitor not see much visible from the street, as well as the opportunity to know who the door before opening it.
Remote Keys
Remote buttons are similar to the remote control you get with car alarms. They can be used from a distance, arm or disarm the alarm, as well as things like turning lights on or off, or unlock the doors.
